How to pick a book club book with the wheel
Before the meeting ends, ask each member to suggest one or two books. Choose “Our club’s list”, type them in, and spin. That’s next month’s read. Everyone had a say, and nobody has to argue for their pick.
Ways to use it
- One suggestion each: keeps the wheel fair and short enough to read every title.
- Theme months: switch to “Suggested picks” and turn on just one or two genres.
- Stay current: “New & popular” is this week’s bestseller chart, refreshed every Monday.
- Pick the host too: switch to “Who hosts”, add members’ names, and turn on “Remove each pick” so everyone takes a turn.
What makes a good book club book?
The best picks give people something to disagree about: a character who makes a hard choice, an ending that splits the room, or a true story that raises questions. Keep length in mind, since a 300-page novel is finished by more members than a 700-page epic. Check that it’s easy to get at the library or as an ebook, too.
Where do the suggested picks come from?
Most are long-time book club favorites. “New & popular” comes from Apple Books’ US bestseller chart each week, leaving out kids’ books, comics, and box sets.
Is the wheel random?
Yes. Each spin uses your browser’s built-in random number generator, so every book on the wheel has the same chance. Your lists stay on your device and aren’t sent anywhere.
